Drug Formulary

West Virginia formulary of the systemic medications that an optometrist may prescribe include:

  1. Antibiotics
  2. Carbonic anhydrase inhibitors
  3. Non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS)
  4. Antihistamines
  5. Oral corticosteroids, may be purchased for a duration of no more than six days
  6. Analgesics, provided that no oral narcotic analgesic may be prescribed for a duration of more than three days
  7. Nutritional supplements
