Online Biennial Renewal
Effective July 2002, the Board of Optometry converted to a biennial (two year) license renewal system. This was done to more efficiently distribute the workload associated with license renewal, and to give you greater flexibility in meeting renewal requirements. This change will result in a biennial renewal fee of $650 paid in advance and 40 hours of CE in arrears.
When you renew your license on or after July 2006, you will pay $650. However, you will not renew your license again until July 2008. In July 2008, you will again pay the biennial renewal fee of $650.
All licenses will EXPIRE on August 1, 2008. There is NO 1-month GRACE period. A LATE RENEWAL FEE of $200 will be imposed if not postmarked by July 31, 2008.
Online Renewal allows you to make address changes. Online Renewal does not allow you to renew online by adding or removing a status, such as paying a delinquency fee or changing a license status. Online Renewal will require the following information:
- User Name
- Password
In order to use e-Renewal, your license must be in a clear/active or clear/inactive status (delinquent licenses and fees cannot be processed on line) and use a credit card.
